How do I set up my FTP access?

Answer: To setup your FTP access to your website, you must first set up a FTP account with us.  To do this, call us and tell us you are ready to activate your FTP account. Let us know if you need FrontPage extensions installed.

Next, you need to have a FTP client software. You can use Internet Explorer 6.x or 3rd party software such as WS_FTP.
(Tip: If you are setting up a website, your home page should be named index.htm).
(Note: Web hosting customers should substitute their domain name for Bluebon.net.)

To use Internet Explorer 6.x:

1.  Open Internet Explorer, select File>Open..., and type in ftp.Bluebon.net.

2.  If you are prompted for a username and password enter them now. If not, right-click in the white space on the right side of the window, select "Login As...", and enter your username and password.
(If the folder list is not displayed in your browser, you may need to "Enable folder view for FTP sites." under the Advanced tab in Internet Options.)

3.  You can now drag and drop files back and forth from your computer to the server.

4.  When you are finished, just close the window.

To use WS_FTP, configure the software by referring to the following:

1.  Be sure that you are connected to the Internet.

2.  Open your FTP software.

3.  Type in your FTP username and Password assigned to you, be cautious of the fact that your password is case sensitive.

4. Type in the FTP Host as ftp.Bluebon.net . You should see something similar to figure 1.

Enter FTP host in FTP software.

5. Next, type in your remote directory, this should be your user name or folder name with a / in front and behind.  Example:  /username/ --- see figure 2

Set the remote directory.
